May is over but the Texas Rangers aren't even halfway thru their season. With 51 games played the Rangers are the proud owners of the best record in the American League at 31-20 and the second best record in the MLB despite dropping two strait against the Seattle Mariners to end the month and one of their starting pitchers, Neftali Feliz, being put on the disabled list and not expected back till late June.

2012 AL West Standings

Team W L Pct GB
Texas 31 20 .608 --
LA Angels 26 26 .500 5.5
Seattle 23 30 .434 9.0
Oakland 22 29 .431 9.0

This last month has had it's memorable moments for the team, mainly the May 8 game against the Baltimore Orioles in which power hitter Josh Hamilton went 5 for 5 with four home runs, a double and eight RBIs. He also leads the league with 21 homers and an outstanding 57 RBIs. He's not the only player at the top of his game. Yu Darvish, the Japanese pitcher with high expectations, continues to adjust to the game here in the states and has gone 7-2 so far with a 3.25 ERA and leads the American League in wins.

The team has today off and will kick off June with a three game series against the Los Angeles Angels before moving on to interleague play later in the month. With two months down and four to go, you can't help but wonder what else can happen this season? Will Hamilton knock four more out the park in a single game? Or can someone manage to throw a perfect game before the season ends? We will just have to wait to find out and with 111 games left to go, a lot can happen.
