A 16-year-old male student, a high school junior in San Antonio, was finally freed from a 2-foot by 4-foot wide safe after being trapped inside for over three hours.

KSAT reports that on Friday afternoon the student got locked in the sturdy government-issued safe located in the ROTC room at Edison High School. Apparently they didn't have the combination because firefighters had to drill holes in the back of the safe to provide the student with oxygen while they worked to free him.

My claustrophobia is kicking in just writing this.

There's no word yet HOW he managed to get locked in the safe. I'm guessing there was some monkey business involved.

The school says they will be taking precautions to make sure this doesn't happen again.
