This was no ordinary day at school.

Jason Seifert, a science teacher at Harry Russell Elementary School in West Carrollton, Ohio, popped the question to his girlfriend, Ally Barker -- a math teacher at the school -- in front of a class of rambunctious fifth graders on Valentine's Day while a fellow teacher recorded the moment.

Seifert stood in front of the class to address some rumors that he and Barker are a couple.

The answer is yes, we are dating. And, we are a little bit more than dating because I am completely in love with her. I was wondering if Miss Barker would like to become Mrs. Seifert."

At that moment, he got on bended knee and the class, already highly excitable, got whipped into such a frenzy you could be excused for thinking they were at a One Direction concert.

Barker, meanwhile, kept the whole matter in perspective. "Teaching is a really hard job and it's really overwhelming, but we love our kids," she said. "We see them more than we see our own kids and to keep them involved in that, it was really special."
