A New National Lampoon’s “Vacation” Movie Is In The Works!
Out of all the movie comedies I have seen, the “Vacation” movies, with the possible exception of “Vegas Vacation” are the cream of the crop. And now, the writer and producers of last years “Horrible Bosses” are going to bring the franchise back! But wait, what about Chevy Chase and Beverly D’angelo as Clark and Ellen Griswold?
This movie will be about an adult Rusty Griswold, Clark and Ellen’s oldest child, and his misadventures with his own family.
The filmmakers say there’s an opportunity for Chevy and Beverly to make an appearance, and obviously, they’re hoping it happens. They have to, it just wouldn’t be the same without at least Chevy. (Maybe throw in Christie Brinkley driving a red Ferrari too? Just a thought)
They also haven’t cast Rusty yet. (How do you not cast Anthony Michael Hall, the original Rusty???)
Anyway, no word on when filming will begin, but for now, here a few of my favorite lines from the original films. See if you can guess the character.
“If he does get ‘a hold of ya’, it’s best to just let him finish.”
“I think you’re all ______ in the head. We’re ten hours from the ______ fun park and you want to bail out. Well I’ll tell you something. This is no longer a vacation. It’s a quest. It’s a quest for fun. I’m gonna have fun and you’re gonna have fun. We’re all gonna have so much fun we’ll need plastic surgeory to remove our ____ smiles. You’ll be whistling ‘Zip-A-Dee Doo-Dah’ out of you’re _____! I gotta be crazy! I’m on a pilgrimage to see a moose. Praise Marty Moose! Holy ____!”
“Russ, please don’t eat the Truckster.”
“Hey look kids, there’s Big Ben, and there’s Parliament.” – repeat.
Those bells haven’t rung in years.
What do they mean?
They’re going to hang someone!
[thinks for a moment, then] DAD!
