Adrian Peterson Leaves Vikings to Deal With Tragic Family Situation

UPDATE 4:40 p.m.: It is now being reported that Adrian Peterson’s son died from his injuries in a Sioux Falls, S.D., hospital. Peterson is back at practice and plans to play in Sunday’s game against Carolina.

UPDATE 1:40 p.m. ET: TMZ reports the boy is on life support with no brain activity since 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Sources say that if the child fails to show any signs of improvement over the course of the next 24 hours his mother wants to take him off of life support and donate his organs.

A very frightening ordeal has emerged involving Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson.

TMZ is reporting that Peterson’s two-year-old son is currently in critical condition after he was allegedly beaten by the man dating his mother. TMZ says that authorities have apprehended a man by the name of Joseph Patterson, who has been charged with aggravated felony assault and battery of an infant.

Stu Whitney of the Argus Leader tweeted the following on Thursday:

Law enforcement is reporting that the child suffered severe head injuries.
