The Empire State Building just upgraded its light show to LED's with a music sync function. For the first test they played Alicia Keys "Girl on Fire" on the radio with the lights syncing to the music.

On November 26, 2012 at 9PM the test took place. The lighting system, created by Philips Color Kinetics, can generate 16 million colors. It creates effects such as ripples, bursts, sweeps, sparkles, cross-fades, strobes and chasers.

Of course you knew at some point they had to play "Empire State of Mind". Its New York City and the Empire State building. Seriously who did not see that coming. This video was shot in Hoboken, New Jersey.

In all it is an amazing light show and from what I read they plan on doing this every night at 9 PM. This would be something to look forward to every night in New York. Having the radio on in your house and looking out at the Empire State Building going with the beat.
