Amber Rose flopped a boob out in a tasteful nude posted this morning (March 17), taken by photographer and Unleash'd magazine founder Solmaz Saberi. And if history serves, she'll likely keep doing it until — and perhaps, after — baring her own body stops being a politically subversive act.

The Twitter photo leaves one bare breast exposed, but the above Instagram version adds a white slash due the photo-sharing service's ban on bare female anatomy. That ban has inspired the #freethenipple campaign, and it unfortunately reflects our American culture's all-around weirdness about the areola area. But through endeavors including her annual Los Angeles Slut Walk and pictures like this one, the model clearly aims to normalize the taboo one protest and/or nudie at a time.

As Amber, Janet Jackson after Super Bowl XXXVIII and any breastfeeding mother who's been shamed in public can tell you, censors and average Joes alike are often reduced to giggles, grimaces and white-knuckle pearl clutching at the sight of a human woman's titty toppers. Nipples may have been biologically designed to provide nutrition for every tiny mammal who enters this world, but society's sexualized them into something meant to be hid like a dirty secret — accent on "dirty". It goes one step further if you're a female celebrity: You're mandated to put them away until a(n often male) director asks you to whip 'em out, or you'll be pressured to apologize when topless photos meant for one pair of eyes is leaked by a(n often male) hacker. Violate these tacit rules, and Piers Morgan might publicly "offer" to lend you clothes to cover up with.

And so, standing with one boob unswathed in a photo that will likely appear in Unleash'd (see another photo from the shoot here), Amber effectively says, "Shame? No, not today." Or more accurately, she reaffirms what she told Pink after the singer suggested Kim Kardashian's tweeted nude was a plea for the wrong kind of "attention."

"Damn Pink we were all born naked society sexualizes our breast and bodies," she began. "If a grown mother of 2 is comfortable with her body and wants to show it off that's none of ur business or anyone else's. Now, if u wanna talk to kids and be a mentor to young teens, tell them to go to school and to not use their bodies to get ahead?! I'm all for it! But please as a grown woman let another grown woman live as she wishes."
