Are Hatchimals Toys Ruining Christmas? [POLL]
Each year has a ‘Hot Toy’ for Christmas and this year that hot toy is a Hatchimal. And Hatchimals are ruining Christmas.
"Is it bad for someone to buy a toy and then sell it for more because they can, or for the parent to be mad that they didn’t buy one in time and now have to spend more money"
A Hatchimal is kind of like a Furby (one of the other hot toys from years forgotten) that you have to hatch from an egg before you can play with it. Sounds super fun, right? At this point I’d say that the Tickle Me Elmo from a few years ago doesn’t seem like such a crazy choice anymore.
Speaking of crazy…let me explain to you how Hatchimals are ruining Christmas.
When people caught wind that Hatchimals were going to be the hot toy this year they went out in droves and bought them all. Now they are selling them online at hugely inflated prices to make a nice chunk of change (in store prices are about $50 and some are now selling online for $200 average), which I honestly think is brilliant and perfectly fair.
How does that ruin Christmas? Just ask anyone who wanted to buy one but couldn’t because the shelves are now bare. I’ve read so many post comments saying that a child’s Christmas has been ruined because the parent didn’t buy one in time and now can’t afford them and it’s all the fault of the person who bought them already and in no way the fault of the parent who didn’t. Follow?
So who is at fault in this? Is it bad for someone to buy a toy and then sell it for more because they can, or for the parent to be mad that they didn’t buy one in time and now have to spend more money pleasing their child?
