Now cassettes have not been a primary way to get your music in about twenty years. So are people still using them to get their music?

Apparently one in ten adults are still listening to music on their cassette tapes. That is about nine percent of adults still listening to tapes. If I had to guess which medium is used more, records or cassettes, I would have guessed records. Well I guessed wrong, because only six percent of adults still listen to records.

I can go to Hastings right now and buy a brand new record. I have not seen brand new cassettes in years. I can't even remember the last time I saw a brand new cassette for sale.

Funny story: At MSU we have to have blank cassettes to record in the Spanish lab. This last year, there was a freshmen in my class and he had never seen a cassette or heard of them. I officially felt old for the first time in my life.
