Update: Wildfire Forces Detour On Hwy 287 North
Wichita County officials had to divert traffic on US 287 north-bound at FM 2384, about 4 miles east of Electra at around 2 pm today. Smoke had reduced visibility to near zero. Wichita County Constable Mark Brewer advised that the highway was reopened at around 2:35 pm.

Around 200 acres burned in Archer County today near FM 1954 and Fuller Road. The fire broke out at around 1:30 pm. Officials say the fire did not pose an immediate danger to homes, but several were being monitored. Crews continue to watch
