Best Halloween Pumpkin Patches in Wichita Falls

Halloween is right around the corner and the annual tradition is to carve those beautiful pumpkins. Here is a list of my favorite pumpkin patches in the Wichita Falls area.
1. River Bend Nature Center
Hands down my number one choice is the River Bend Nature Center. Not only do your kids get a pumpkin for $4, they can also decorate it right there at the nature center, that way you don’t have to make a mess in your house. They have pumpkins of all shapes and sizes. They even have some odd colored pumpkins there as well. You can sign up on the River Bend Nature Center website.
2. Painted Pony Rides
Who doesn’t want something free with their pumpkin? Well the people at Painted Pony Rides are hooking kids up with a free pony ride with every pumpkin purchase. Check out the Painted Pony Rides website for hours. You can also call them at (940) 781-4949, their hours vary daily so give them a call to make sure they are open.
3. University United Methodist Church
Right across from Midwestern State University is University United Methodist Church. They have their annual Fall Fest and this year it’s on October 6. They usually have hay rides for the kids and always a good selection of pumpkins. Check out the University United Methodist Church website.
4. Wal-Mart
Now if you’re cheap like me and have young kids that don’t even know what day Halloween is, you can go to Wal-Mart the day after Halloween. They will have pumpkins outside for you to take home for FREE. This way you can still celebrate carving a pumpkin with your kids at no price.
If carving the pumpkins is not your thing, here is something fun that you may not know about – pumpkin chunkin. This is where you take the free pumpkins and catapult them in a field. I posted a video below so you could see what I am talking about.
Those are Eric the Intern’s favorite places to get pumpkins for Halloween. Hopefully everyone has a safe and fun Halloween this year. Also please do not toilet paper my house.
