By now I'm sure you have heard the catchy tune by Carly Rae Jepsen "Call Me Maybe."  It's one of our top 40 most played songs here on 92.9 NIN, and for a reason. It's the kind of song that you can't help but crank up and sing along to in the car when you're alone.  I'll admit, I've done it. But I would never admit that in public - especially not in front of my guy friends.

But have you noticed that it has become more than just a song?

Apparently there is a 'Call Me Maybe' trend on the rise.  People have presented this in many different ways.  Joe, a producer from one of our sister stations in New Jersey,  got 'Call Me Maybe'd' on a receipt while at a Dunkin' Donuts enjoying his morning coffee. Here's a photo (nice shoes, Joe):

Aww, how cute. I think it's actually very flattering to get a nice note and a number from someone written on a receipt or a napkin, but the weird, and somewhat creepy, meme is the 'Call Me Maybe' business card (pictured at the top of this post). I can see how it might be sort of charming at first sight, but then again if somebody takes the time - and money - to have a bunch of business cards printed with a song lyric, their name and number on them, to me, that just screams desperate creeper. And if you get one of these cards, I wouldn't feel too special, because you are probably not the first, nor the last, person to get 'Call Me Maybe'd' from that particular guy (or gal).

So what do YOU think?  Is this 'Call Me Maybe' trend endearing or obnoxious? Answer in the poll below and leave a comment with your thoughts.
