Back in April, 14 gamblers at the Golden Nugget casino in Atlantic City noticed the same sequence of cards kept coming out over and over at a mini baccarat table.  Over 41 identical hands, they won a total of 1.5 million dollars. They noticed the cards kept coming out in the same order.  Over and over and over.  So they started upping their bets. The casino security swarmed and accused them of cheating.  But they weren't.  It turns out the company that manufactured the cards was supposed to send them pre-shuffled the Golden Nugget hadn't checked to make sure.

The casino is now handling this by suing everybody.  They're suing the 14 gamblers saying they shouldn't have to pay out their winnings. They are also suing the card manufacturer for sending the cards unshuffled.

So maybe the house doesn't always win. My dumb self would probably not even noticed the pattern. I hope the gamblers win this case. It is not there fault the cards were not shuffled, that's just neglect on the casino. So pay up Golden Nugget.
