OK, I'm going to get a little nostalgic here, but Mr. Rogers was a national treasure, even when sending rejection letters.

A little over 20 years ago, some 6-year-old kid sent a letter to Mr. Rogers asking if he could come visit him at his house.  For some reason, Mr. Rogers couldn't let him do that. (Liability issues??)

He then sent the kid what may possibly be the nicest rejection letter ever sent.

I will admit that I am a cynic in most things, but there is nothing about Mr. Rogers that seems fake or forced.  He was exactly what you saw on his show.  You can read the letter here:
