Republican Presidential hopefuls Ted Cruz, Mitt Romney, and Jeb Bush recently expressed their feelings on the South Carolina capitol's use of the Confederate flag, with Romney and Bush seeming to agree.

Mitt Romney became the first presidential hopeful to make a bold stance on the use of the Confederate flag at South Carolina state capitol in the wake of the Charleston shootings, saying,

This isn't the first time Romney has spoken out against the use of the flag, speaking about it in 2008 saying its not a flag that should be flown and its a flag he doesn't recognize.  Jeb Bush also spoke out against the flag's use, citing Florida's actions with the flag,

My position on how to address the Confederate flag is clear.  In Florida, we acted, moving the flag from the state grounds to a museum where it belonged.

Bush also suggested that South Carolina leaders would be discussing the issue after a time of mourning, and he believes they will do the right thing.  But while Bush and Romney have voiced opposition to the use of the flag, Senator Ted Cruz has spoken out saying that while he understands both sides of the situation, those who see it as a symbol of racial hatred and slavery and those who see it as a symbol of southern heritage and history, Cruz believes that what South Carolina doesn't need right now is people from outside the state telling them how to handle the situation.
