The Dallas Cowboys final roster has to be in tonight and the team can only hold 53 players. This is a nervous time for those second and third string teammates. The Cowboys have to cut 22 players by tonight.

It appears that the Cowboys have informed the following players that they will be released: QB Rudy Carpenter, DE Clifton Geathers, FB Shaun Chapas, OLB Adrian Hamilton, WR Danny Coale, OL Pat McQuistan, OL Ronald Leary, OL Harland Gunn, DE Ben Bass and WR Saalim Hakim.

These are projected cuts and nothing is finalized until 8 tonight. This has got to be the most nervous time in a rookies career to me. Going through all of training camp, four preseason games, and not knowing until 8 tonight if you made the team.

Hopefully the Dallas Cowboys organization makes the right call and doesn't cut a potentially good player. Remember former Defensive Player of the year James Harrison? He was cut by FOUR different NFL teams and not given a chance to play in a regular season NFL game. Luckily for him the Steelers saw something in him and gave him a shot. Now he is one of the stand-out players in the game.
