Disney World Plans All-Nighter to Kick Off Memorial Day Weekend
When you go to Disney World it can be a little overwhelming, but what if you had 24 hours to play in the world’s greatest theme park?
On May 24 both Disney World in Florida and Disney Land in California are planning to be open 24 hours straight.“Guests can start Memorial Day Weekend with a 24-hour-marathon of memory-making,” said Walt Disney World President George Kalogridis, “as three parks stay open all day and all night to celebrate the bi-coastal kick-off of our Disney Parks Monstrous Summer,” a tie-in to the “Monsters, Inc.” prequel opening in June.
According to Kalogridis, the Magic Kingdom Park in Florida, along with Disneyland Park and Disney Adventure Park in California, will stay open from 6 a.m. on May 24 to 6 a.m. May 25.The parks will have late-night dance parties and feature costumed Disney characters in their pajamas.
The Disney fan site Inside the Magic says all three parks will have limited-edition specialty merchandise available throughout the 24 hour period, along with food and beverage offerings “plus other surprises throughout the entire day.” Now I went to Disney World during Easter, but I could go back for 24 hours of non-stop fun.
