From Fall '09 to Winter '10, "Harry Potter" star Emma Watson was a proud member of Brown University.  She left the University after last semester saying,

"I've decided to take a bit of time off to completely finish my work on 'Harry Potter' … and to focus on my other professional and acting projects."

However, some people from Brown University are saying part of her decision to leave may have been verbal abuse she received from other students.  In class, Watson was very much like her Potter character in that she would immediately correctly answer questions.  Many times, her classmates would follow up one of her right answers with a Potter related comment.  "Three points for Gryffindor," seemed to be the most popular retort.

Outside of class, Watson had problems as school events like football games where she had been known to be stalked by admirers and heckled during the game, leading to a security escort as some games.

Before attending Brown University, Watson said she just wanted to be normal.  But her celebrity status was apparent from the start.  Rumors are that her freshman roommate was required to sign a confidentiality waiver before Watson moved in.
