As stated in the video, this footage was taken outside Howardwick, Texas, which is in the northern panhandle east of Amarillo.

The super black smoke is indicative of burning oil, and the huge flames show quite a bit of intense heat. I have no windmill maintenance expertise, but many folks in the comments who seem to work in the industry agree that this was caused by poor maintenance.

Here's hoping the wind farm owner figures out the problem so it doesn't happen again. It's terrifying to think a tech could have been up there at the time.
