Australian singer Wally de Backer (aka. Gotye) isn't showing any love to the show that helped launch his career here in the states. In fact he called Glee's take on his song "dinky and wrong." In a recent interview with the Sunday Mail Backer said, "They did such a faithful arrangement of the instrumentals but the vocals were that pop Glee style, ultra-dry, sounded pretty tuned and the rock has no real sense, like it's playing to you from a cardboard box."

Gotye performed on SNL the week after Glee aired their take on the song. Barely a week after that his song was sitting at number one in the country. The success of "Somebody That I Used to Know" makes Backer the fourth Australian artist to have a no. 1 single in the United States.
