Grumpy Cat Releases Match-3 Game [PHOTOS]
Grumpy Cat, aka Tardar Sauce, who has proven herself to be quite a business cat, has released a new match-3 game titled “Grumpy Cat: Unimpressed.” The game comes on the heels of other GC products, such as Grumpy Cat Grumpuccino (which is honestly the best cappuccino beverage I’ve ever tried), Weather App, Odor Eliminator, and Photobomb App, in addition to other GC merchandise. I even have a Grumpy Cat calendar on my wall.
The game is similar to other match-3 games, but instead of vegetables or candy pieces, users are treated to matching up litter scoopers, fish bones, balls of yarn, mice, food bowls, and the occasional litter box. You’re given five lives to start with, and lives refill every 30 minutes. You may connect through Facebook to share lives and ask for help from friends, and each level has a set goal you need to obtain. Just as you might expect, extra lives may be purchased along with power-ups to help with gameplay.
Being that I’m a fan of match-3 games and a fan of Grumpy Cat, I downloaded the free game to try it out for myself. During levels I was treated to little sayings that I’ll call “Grumpyisms” to “cheer” me on. These photos along with a snarky comment typically popped up when I had an impressive combo, but GC is clearly unimpressed with anything you do. Users are also treated to cat sounds throughout the game to make things a little more interesting. After making my way through the Garden levels I moved on to the Couch levels. That’s where I spent the remainder of my lives and then logged out to wait for my lives to refill.
After spending some time playing Grumpy Cat: Unimpressed, I have to say that I am impressed. If you’re a fan of match-3 games then this is a good one to download, and the GC memes that pop up are fun to check out. You can get more info on the game, published by GANZ, at the iTunes Store. In the meantime, take a peek at some screen shots I took from the game.
