Forget all the talk about the bad relationship between police and citizens.

Jamal Rutledge, 17, was arrested back in September in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for violating his parole, but managed to save the life of the very same officer who cuffed him.

As Franklin Foulks led Jamal into a room for processing he fell to the floor, he collapsed to the floor. Jamal, still in handcuffs, quickly moved over to check on him and then walked to the security door to yell for help. Officers quickly descended on the scene and Foulks was taken to a hospital where he recovered.

Jamal and three officers will be honored by the city for their actions later this month.
