Back in 1994 a band from South Carolina exploded onto the music scene. Their catchy, college-rock sound was all over the radio, and everyone was asking, "Which one is Hootie?" It was way back 21 years ago that Hootie and the Blowfish made their national television debut and performed their first single, 'Hold My Hand' on the 'Late Show' with David Letterman.

A lot has changed in 21 years. Darius Rucker has gone on from Hootie and the Blowfish (He isn't Hootie, BTW) and established a Grammy-winning country music career. While the band has gotten together a few times a year for charity concerts in South Carolina, it's been awhile since they've been in front of a national audience.

With David Letterman leaving the 'Late Show' though, it was definitely time for some nostalgia. Last night, the group came together again on the stage at the Ed Sullivan Theater to recreate that first TV performance 21 years later.
