Illegal immigration has had a crushing effect on our social welfare system in America.  From cash benefits to healthcare, the costs have gone well beyond burdensome. Now, Washington wants to add even more pressure with thousands, perhaps tens of thousands of Syrian 'refugees'.

One of the arguments in favor of lax immigration laws for America is the fight against world poverty.

Author and journalist Roy Beck's gumball demonstration shows the real impact of such thinking. We can never absorb enough people to make a dent in world poverty, much less eradicate it. Dr. Beck first made this presentation in 1996. It's is as relevant today as it was twenty years ago. And by the way, Dr. Beck voted for Obama in 2008.  Please watch and share.
