Jamie Dornan Replaces Charlie Hunnam as Christian Grey in ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’
In the two weeks since Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam officially dropped out of the title role in Fifty Shades of Grey, former Once Upon a Time star Jamie Dornan was the rumored front runner to replace Hunnam. Now, according to Variety, rumors have become fact and Dornan has been officially cast as Christian Grey.
After Hunnam's very public exit from the project, executives from Universal and Focus reported brought in Dornan and Billy Magnussen last Friday to screen test with Dakota Johnson, playing the other lead character Anastasia Steele. While it was speculated that Universal would bring in more actors to broaden their search for the new Christian, but reports indicate Dornan and Magnussen were the only two to have screen tested as of this morning, with Variety reporting the casting news this evening.
Universal and Focus Features have declined to comment.
