The judging panel for Season 13 of 'American Idol' is starting to take shape and Jennifer Hudson is reportedly the first celeb to sign on for one of the four open spots.

E! Online has confirmed with multiple sources that J. Hud is a definite for the next season that starts this fall and other 'Idol' alums like Adam Lambert and Clay Aiken are in talks to fill out the judging panel. There was some speculation that Kelly Clarkson was also in negotiations to join the broadcast, but her rep has reportedly shot down those rumors. Too bad!

A FOX source told E!, "It's 'Idol' alums bringing in the next generation." Looks like they'll have to find another former contestant to fill Kelly Clarkson's shoes!

Even being one the most successful 'Idol' perfomers, Jennifer Hudson did not actually win Season 3 of the show, that honor went to Fantasia Barrino. Though with an Oscar, Golden Globe and a Grammy under her belt, we think J. Hud's done just fine for herself, not to mention made herself one of the most successful 'Idol' albums.

With the 'American Idol' ratings taking monster hits this past season, a panel that includes J. Hud might be the breath of fresh air the show needs. Go girl! We can't wait to see her on the judging panel!
