When you’re a celebrity, everything you do is in the spotlight. From Angelina Jolie’s tattoos to Michael Jackson’s obsession with animals, pretty much every activity is scrutinized. So it surprises me when celebrities dish about aspects of their lives which may seem unsavory to the rest of us.

Recently on the Ellen Show, Jessica Simpson gave insight as to her dental hygiene practices. Now I’ll admit, I don’t floss every day like I should, but I brush every day. Every. Day. Not doing so would be nasty, and I’d be offensive to those around me if I didn’t.

Yet Jessica is saying that she only brushes three times a week.

Um… you’re missing a few days there.

Yes, folks. Three times a week. But she adds that she flosses every day and uses Listerine. That’s great that she’s getting down the flossing part, but seriously, what about all that plaque? She states:

"My teeth are so white and I don't like them to feel too slippery but I do use Listerine and I do floss everyday," she said. "But I don't brush them every day. ... My lips just slide all over the place ... I can't catch up with my mouth. I need a little coating."

Instead, she's figured out a better system: she uses "a shirt or something" to wipe her teeth. And since she's not repulsed by her own breath, everything must be fine!

"I know it's gross but I always have fresh breath," she laughed. "It's really weird but I have great breath."

I can’t help but wonder, how many toothbrushes have been sent to her since this announcement? Is anyone else as disturbed by this as I am?
