Johnny Depp was in Lawton, Oklahoma on Friday afternoon for a special screening of Disney’s The Lone Ranger. He was accompanied by Jerry Bruckheimer, who produced the film, and Oscar winner Gore Verbinski, director. They walked the red carpet, answered questions, and signed a few autographs before going into the theater to watch the movie, and we were on-hand to capture the action.

Depp, who was adopted into the Comanche Nation last year, wanted Disney to bring this screening to Lawton as a token of his appreciation to the tribe. Prior to his arrival, onlookers were treated to beautiful tribal dances, drums, and pageantry.

Wallace Coffey, Comanche Nation Chairman, was on the red carpet and explained his role in Depp’s adoption and gave a little bit of insight to the movie. He also explained the necklace Depp was wearing on the red carpet and what this film means to the Comanche Nation.
