Justin Bieber was in the Netherlands on Friday and made a visit to the Anne Frank House. The tour was private and done after hours as fans waited outside for a glimpse of the star. While he was there, Bieber signed the guest book, and that’s where the trouble began. His comment in the guest book has him under fire by many and some consider what he wrote to be insensitive.

The Anne Frank House wrote about his visit on their Facebook page, saying this:

On the other hand, there were many who came to Bieber’s defense, saying that he wasn’t trying to be insensitive:

On a personal note, having been to the Anne Frank House myself I can say that it’s a solemn trip. Anne and her family hid in that attic out of fear for their lives. It’s a very moving moment when you stand in her room, and during my experience I didn’t find myself thinking about how that young girl could have benefitted me. I have to agree with those who are taken aback by his comment and I find it to be insensitive. I’m sure he wasn’t trying to be and he made an error in judgment just like we all do from time to time, but it would seem he turned his tour into a circus that was all about him.

What do you think? Were his comments out of line?
