Katy Perry has dropped the price of her latest song, ‘The One That Got Away,’ in hopes of scoring her sixth No. 1 single.

The pop star is currently tied with Michael Jackson for the most No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 singles from one album, but getting her latest ‘Teenage Dream’ cut to the top of the charts will snatch the star a history-making record.

The reminiscent tune cracked the Top 10 following Perry’s performance at the 2011 American Music Awards, but hasn’t been able to rise above No. 9 since. However, with the new 69-cent price tag on the song, the 27-year-old songstress could reach her goal.

This isn’t the first time Perry’s label has dropped the price of one of her singles to increase sales. The singer was able to tie Jackson’s record the week after she released a 69-cent remixed version of ‘Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F)’ featuring Missy Elliott.

‘The One That Got Away’ was released in October, and followed ‘California Gurls,’ ‘Teenage Dream,’ ‘Firework,’ ‘E.T.’ and ‘Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.).’ Perry’s third studio album hit shelves in August 2010 and has since earned the singer six Grammy nominations, including Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for ‘Firework’ at the 2012 Grammys.
