While it may not have been romance per se, a sequin-covered Lady Gaga welcomed in the new year by macking on NYC's Mayor Bloomberg. It's fair to say we probably won't be seeing him in Gaga's next music video (as that's how her relationship with Taylor Kinney all started), other celebrity couples followed their example and celebrated New Year's with a little romance.

Mother Monster and New York's mayor may have seemed like an odd pairing, but perhaps no two living people personify the Big Apple more. So this is how it went down — Bloomberg chose Gaga to help him bring down Times Square's iconic crystal ball at midnight, and she donned her bedazzled finest to do just that. As revelers cheered, the pair shared their quick kiss and danced together to Frank Sinatra's 'New York, New York.'
James Durbin and Heidi Lowe Get Married
The 'American Idol' alum, 22, and longtime girlfriend Heidi Lowe tied the knot Saturday night in California's Santa Cruz Mountains. The couple, who have a young son together, said the wedding was “the perfect way to kick off the New Year,” and added, “We are looking forward to living happily ever after.”
