Color us impressed! Lena Dunham has snagged a Vogue cover, showing off a slightly glam side that we're not used to seeing.

But it's not Dunham we're impressed with this in regard; she has already won our hearts with her work as the adorbs and neurotic Hannah Horvath on 'Girls.' We're impressed with editress Anna Wintour for putting the actress, writer and series creator on the cover.

Let's be honest here. The tattooed, delightfully disheveled Dunham regularly lands on worst dressed lists at red carpet events, even though she tries to play dress up. But her charm lies in the fact that she's not high fashion and that fact that she is a regular, well, 'Girl.'

Vogue is a fashion bible, dripping with A-listers and stick-thin models when it comes to the cover. So to put Dunham -- looking distressed but sultry with smoky eye makeup, pink-painted lips and a red polka dot shirt -- on the cover was a big risk.

But we lurve how Dunham, 27, who was shot by Annie Leibovitz for the February issue, is so mysterious in this pic. What has her hot under the collar, putting her hand to her temple and pulling at her shirt? We want to know why she is striking this pose. It's an arresting image, for sure.

Dunham is christened the "The New Queen of Comedy" in her cover tag, as well.

It's nice to see someone other than the Kate Uptons of the world get some recognition.
