I hope every drug dealer, sex offender and prostitute were arrested in this town before they went after this guy.

God, it must have been a slow day in Concord, North Carolina. Police there arrested James Meyers for failure to return rental property, a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $200. James rented the video back in 2002 from a place called J&J video, which is no longer open.

Meyers was driving the other day and got pulled over for a broken taillight. Police ran his plate for twenty-five minutes. “The officer said, 'I don’t know how to tell you this but there’s a warrant out for your arrest from 2002. Apparently you rented the movie "Freddy Got Fingered" and never returned it. "I thought he was joking,” said Meyers.

The officer allowed Meyers to take his daughter to school, but he would have to turn himself in at the end of the day. Meyers said he thought everything would get straightened out at the department. He was surprised when officers arrested him and then took him to the magistrate’s office. “For the first time I got put in handcuffs,” said Meyers.

What's crazy is, Tom Green has gotten word on this story. He was the star of the 2001 comedy. Tom Green says he is willing to pay the $200 to help out Meyers. I think the police department should let this one go. He obviously turned himself in, just get it removed from his record.
