There are many things you probably know about Mark Wahlberg,

  1. He used to model underwear for Calvin Klein.
  2. Used to be a rapper called Marky Mark.
  3. He's been in some good movies.
  4. He's been in more bad movies.
  5. He should have been on one of the planes that crashed into the World Trade Center on 9/11.

Wait, that last one throw you?  Yep, its true.  Wahlberg and his family were scheduled to be on the American Airlines flight from Boston to Los Angeles that was highjacked and crashed into the WTC.  Luckily for the Wahlberg clan, circustances called for him to change their flight plans.  In a recent interview with Men's Health magazine, Wahlberg assured people that had he been on that flight, 9/11 wouldn't have gone down like it did,

“If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn’t have went down like it did. There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, ‘OK, we’re going to land somewhere safely, don’t worry.’”

Shortly after his comment, families of 9/11 victims spoke out, criticising Wahlberg's hero-complex comments.  It didn't take long for Wahlberg to retract his statement, saying late Wednesday,

“To speculate about such a situation is ridiculous to begin with, and to suggest I would have done anything differently than the passengers on that plane was irresponsible. I deeply apologize to the families of the victims that my answer came off as insensitive; it was certainly not my intention.”

Wahlberg isn't the first actor to think their tough attitude in movies would translate to the real world.  Remember Shia LaBeouf getting his butt handed to him?
