I have a deaf cat, but that doesn’t stop me from communicating with her. Body language tells her quite a bit, like when I rub my fingers together or tilt my head in a certain way while I’m looking at her. People will tell you that cats never come when called, but if I look her in the eyes and perform certain movements, she’ll come running. If she’s in my husband’s lap and I happen to walk by and catch her eye, she’ll follow after me then as well. She likes me and she doesn’t mind letting me know. Some pets don’t have someone to communicate with, and that’s where you can help.

The Humane Society shelters pets, gets them the care they need, gives them the love they’re craving, and does their best to place them in permanent homes. Whether you’re looking for a lazy dog who prefers a quiet walk to play, or a cat who chases toys, chances are the Humane Society will have your perfect match.

May I present our pets of the week. If you’d like to see them in person or get more information on these pets or any other pets that the Humane Society has, check them out online here or call 940-855-4941. They’re located at 4360 Old Iowa Park Road in Wichita Falls.

Kennedy

Kennedy is a small, adult, female, short haired cat. She’s really cuddly and loves sitting in your lap, and since she’s only 5-years-old she still likes to get in play time. Her favorite spot is a patch of sunny carpet, and she warms up to people quickly. She’s spayed, up-to-date on shots, heartworm tested and on preventative, and microchipped. Kennedy may like to sleep a lot just like every cat, but she would love to have a place to call her own. She’s been at the Humane Society for a while now, so stop by to meet her and see if she’s right for your family!
