Two New York artists are currently sharing a “two-bedroom apartment,” but it’s not your typical living space. Ward Shelley and Alex Schweder are participating in a performance art piece where they live in a giant hamster wheel of sorts for ten days, with the message that we all need to work together to make things happen.

With everything from a bed to a toilet, the structure is 20 feet tall and requires both men to move in order to get the wheel to move. Shelley, who is living in the upper portion, wears a safety harness just in case things go wrong.

The exhibit, titled "In Orbit," is running at the Pierogi gallery in Brooklyn, and the men are likely counting down the days and hours until their performance is finished. If they learn nothing else from the experience, they’ll at least know what it’s like to be a human hamster.
