A 31-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Montague County Friday evening.

31-year-old Timothy Michael Gilbert of Montague was killed when his 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee rolled. Gilbert was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.

According to Texas DPS spokesman Dan Buesing, Gilbert was southbound on FM 1816 at about 6:30 pm Friday when the vehicle left the road to the right. Gilbert over-corrected to the left, causing the Jeep to skid and slid into a ditch, where it rolled several times.

Two passengers in the Jeep survived the crash. One of the victims was airlifted to John Peter Smith Hospital in Ft Worth. Their conditions are unknown at this time.

It is not clear if Gilbert was wearing a seat belt. The investigation is ongoing.
