George Lucas will never be happy.  This all started in the late 90s when the special editions of the original trilogy were re-released in the theater with added and altered scenes, including the infamous scene where Han Solo no longer shoots Greedo first.  Then, the trilogy was released on DVD with even more alterations, including a change to the Han Solo vs. Greedo scene where Greedo still shoots first, but only by a fraction of a second.  Now that the entire saga is being released on Blu Ray, fans have been wondering what other changes Lucas would be making.  Rumors had been going around that Lucas was done with the changes and the main new draw to the Blu Ray version was the special features that include never before seen deleted scenes.  Well... we were wrong.

Now, this is a change that I like.  The Yoda puppet in "The Phantom Menace" was an abomination.  Now we have some changes that aren't terrible, just not really necessary.

Apparently Obi Wan's "scream" in the first film wasn't good enough...

A quick change that you may not notice if you're not familiar with the original version of "Return of the Jedi", but Lucas must have felt like the door to Jabba's palace wasn't big enough...

Again, another minor change in the grand scheme of things, but still something where I have to ask, "Was this necessary?"  If you watch "Return of the Jedi", you may have noticed that the Ewoks do no blink.  Well, thank you Mr. Lucas for fixing that terrible problem!

The release of Han Solo from carbonite was cheesy to begin with, but this just looks weird...

One of the most bashed moments in the new trilogy is Darth Vader screaming "NOOOOOOO!" when he's told that he killed Padme at the end of "Revenge of the Sith".  Was one "No!" enough?  NOOOOOO!

Now, its not all bad.  Like I said earlier, a big draw on this was never before seen deleted scenes such as...

Even though I'm so frustrated with the constant meddling of George Lucas, I will welcome this new Blu Ray set with open arms.  I love the original trilogy and can't wait for the improved picture and extra features.  I just want Lucas to be done messing with my memories.  We loved the original trilogy as is, no need to change it.  The over all reception of the changes has been resoundingly negative, yet Lucas still feels he's making an improvement.
