Last night’s severe storms hit the town of Granbury, Texas hard with what the National Weather Service is now calling an EF-4 tornado (the April 10, 1979 Wichita Falls tornado was rated EF-4).  CBS DFW reports over 100 injured, with as many as fifteen of thirty seven people who were taken to Lake Granbury Hospital having been transferred to larger area hospitals for treatment.  At least six people were killed and dozens were missing.  The Rancho Brazos area of Granbury suffered severe damage.  About 250 people had to be evacuated.  According to the National Weather Service, as many as ten tornadoes may have touched down in the area last night.  The town of Cleburne was also hard hit.  The National Weather Service has rated the Cleburne tornado an EF-3.  Severe damage also occurred in Bowie.  The country club building at Amon Carter Lake was destroyed.  A number of homes near Bowie also reportedly suffered serious damage as well.  Here’s one resident’s view:
