The economy over the past few years has taken its toll on everyone and every business.  The largest Italian food chain is no exception.  Olive Garden's business has been suffering as of late due to consumer spending and attitudes, and Olive Garden believes they know what is needed to inject life into their business once more.

In a recent interview with the Chicago Tribune, representatives from Olive Garden noted that not only are customers spending less, but asking for more product for their money.  Though not giving specifics, Olive Garden reps did confirm a virtual overhaul of the current Olive Garden image with resigned menus, restaurants, and ad campaigns.

Olive Garden is not the only chain looking to alter their public face.  In 2011, Au Bon Pain, Wendy's, and Chipotle announced plans to remodel and redesign.  It is estimated that 24% of restaurant owners' budgets for the new year are for remodeling and staying current in the rough economy.
