Three weeks ago Walmart began a contest to see which store's Facebook page could receive more likes with the winner earning a visit from rapper and musician Pitbull. It was a great idea but one man decided that his idea would be way better.

David Thorpe, a writer for the "Boston Phoenix" and the website SomethingAwful.com decided that instead of trying to get Pitbull to come to his local Walmart, he would call upon the help of his readers to pull a prank and send Pit to the most remote Walmart in America. And help they did.

After three weeks and 70,000 likes later the winner has been decided and it is... the Walmart located in Kodiak, Alaska! Pitbull responded by saying "I heard that Kodiak, Alaska has the most likes due to someone who thinks he was playing a prank. But you gotta understand, I'll go anywhere in the world for my fans."

And that he will. Pitbull invited Thorpe to accompany him to Alaska, who agreed, and the pair will head to Kodiak, Alaska at the end of the month.

Now for those of you who are wondering why Pitbull isn't coming to any of our Walmarts it's simply because we didn't even get close to that many votes even if you combine the likes of all three Walmarts that are in Wichita Falls. Here's how the Walmarts in our area did during the contest.
