Our cats are never on the right side of the door. We have a privacy fence that allows them to wander the back yard without getting out, so especially on sunny days they like to lay around in the bushes or go after a bird (which they never seem to catch). For one of the cats, however, his adventure is always done too soon. He goes out, checks the perimeter, then comes back to the door to yell at us to be let in. He may have only been out for literally two minutes, but he stands at the door wailing as though he's been left without food and water for days. Once he's inside, he's happy for about five minutes, then we do the whole thing again. We've come to accept that's just the way he is. Some pets don't have a home where they can baffle their owners, and that's where you come in.

The Humane Society shelters pets, gets them the care they need, gives them the love they’re craving, and does their best to place them in permanent homes. Whether you’re looking for an lazy dog who prefers a quiet walk to play, or a cat who chases toys, chances are the Humane Society will have your perfect match.

May I present our pets of the week. If you’d like to see them in person or get more information on these pets or any other pets that the Humane Society has, check them out online here or call 940-855-4941. They’re located at 4360 Old Iowa Park Road in Wichita Falls.

Picaso is a small, young, male tabby cat. At just a few months old, he has a lot of energy, but he also likes to take long naps. He's curious and loves to play. He's up-to-date on shots, heartworm tested and on preventative, and microchipped. If you're looking for a kitten to steal your heart, this guy is up for the task. Stop in to meet him today, and I recommend giving him a scratch under the chin.
