With a new hit album, a record-setting string of No. 1 singles, and a role in one of 2012′s big-budget blockbusters to her name, it’s pretty obvious that a lot of people like Rihanna. Now we know that a lot of people also ‘like’ her — on Facebook, that is.

Rihanna is the social networking giant’s most ‘liked’ artist of the year, topping an eclectic list of acts that includes fellow pop chart-toppers (including David Guetta and Lady Gaga), rockers (Metallica and Green Day), and at least one legend (Bob Marley).

She didn’t stop there, though. ‘We Found Love,’ the lead single off of her ‘Talk That Talk‘ album, beat out a strong batch of competitors — including Katy Perry‘s ‘Last Friday Night’ and LMFAO‘s ‘Sexy and I Know It’ — to take top honors as the year’s Most Listened to Song.

The results were published as part of Facebook’s Memology 2011 report, which looked at its users’ most popular shared media from a wide variety of areas, including sports, news, entertainment, and overall status update topics. Were you listening to/watching/sharing the same stuff as the cool kids this year? Take a look at the lists and let us know!
