Sesame Street ‘Share It Maybe’ Parody [VIDEO]

Everyone seems to have their own parody lately. From Gotye to Gaga and back to Maroon 5, if you're looking for a laugh, chances are you'll find a parody of the song you're singing. One of the latest to jump on this bandwagon is Sesame Street. They've done a parody of Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe," a song which has caught fire in the past few weeks. This one is called "Share It Maybe," and features Cookie Monster.

When I first saw a link to this song, I thought it might be something another fan has done, but with a poorly done furry blue puppet. What I found instead is that this is the real deal and done by Sesame Street. Cookie Monster finds that someone in the office is sharing cookies, and all he wants is a taste.

I'm not sure when Cookie Monster got a job in an office, but apparently he and his cookie fetish are going unnoticed by those around him since it takes so long to get someone to share with him.

Surprisingly, some of the comments on YouTube are from disgruntled people who feel Sesame Street is cashing in on pop culture. Clearly they haven't enjoyed a tasty cookie lately and need some sweetening up. Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't the show always been laced with pop culture? Others are complaining that Cookie Monster is part of the blame for childhood obesity. Seriously?

Aside from the negativity, others are stating that it's a fun way to remember their childhood, and I have to agree with them. Where do you sit on the issue?
