Kanye West has close relationships with many celebrities but one run-in with a Hollywood comedian didn't go exactly as planned for Yeezy. Actor Seth Rogen recently sat down with Rolling Stone for a video that was posted on Tuesday (July 31) and revealed how an encounter with the Chicago rapper ended up with him turning down Kanye's invite to play basketball.

According to the comedian, he first met Kanye about 12 years ago while the "All Mine" rapper was jogging through his neighborhood. “My house is right around the corner from a personal trainer who trains famous people, basically,” Rogen said on The First Time series. “One morning I was leaving my house, and Kanye West jogged by me and said, ‘You’re a funny motherfucker!’ And I was like, ‘I think that was Kanye West!’ but I wasn’t 100 percent sure.'”

While the two didn't become friends on the spot, Rogen says weeks later Kanye showed up at his house holding a basketball and wondering if the comedian would like to play. “She goes, ‘Who is this?’ and then I heard her go, ‘Kanye’ who?'” Rogen recalls of his wife opening the door.

“And then I was like, ‘Oh, no! It’s Kanye West!’ And I ran downstairs, and he was literally standing downstairs with a basketball under his arm and was like, ‘You wanna come play?’—like he was just a kid in the neighborhood," the actor continued. "And I was like, ‘Dude, I’m so hungover. I can’t do this.’ I’ve run into him periodically over the years. And I love Kanye West.”

In related news, the Ye rapper was recently hit with devastating news as his father Ray was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Reports previously claimed the elder West was suffering from stomach cancer but turned out to be false. Ray is now being treated in Los Angeles and is responding well to the treatment.
