In news that should trigger a flood of "Sweet Emotion" jokes, the Skittles candy brand has booked Steven Tyler for a Super Bowl commercial.

The Huffington Post reports that Tyler's spot marks the first time Skittles has hired a celebrity to be part of its long-running "Taste the Rainbow" campaign, and shared the above still from the company, which is described as "relevant to the ad."

A publicist for Skittles' parent company Wrigley also passed along word that "as a show of appreciation, the brand created a custom, one-of-a-kind Skittles covered microphone for Steven, so he can rock on with the rainbow leading up to the Super Bowl and beyond."

Tyler's Super Bowl Skittles spot will air during the game on Feb. 7 — shortly after the release of his latest single, "Red White & You," which is scheduled to hit radio on Jan. 25. It's the second release from Tyler's upcoming solo album, which is reportedly tentatively slated to arrive in stores early this year; the record's lead-off single, "Love Is Your Name," was a Top 20 hit on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart last year.

Later in February, Tyler fans can get their fill of the Aerosmith frontman by checking out his upcoming appearance on the PBS series Front and Center. Scheduled to start airing on "select stations" Feb. 29, the show offers footage from Tyler's recent acoustic gig at the Melrose Ballroom in New York, which Ultimate Classic Rock reviewed last year.
