Yes, its fast food, but I had HOPED they used actual beef.  But Taco Bell is now being sued by a California woman for "false-advertising."  The LA Times reports that the class action lawsuit objects to Taco Bell's use of "ground beef" as most of the taco filling contains items other than meat.  The lawsuit lists the ingredients as "water, isolated oat product, wheat oats, soy lecithin, maltodextrin, anti-dusting agent, autolyzed yeast extract, modified corn starch and sodium phosphate, as well as some beef and seasonings."Only 35% of the filling is a solid, and 15% is protein, which doesn't conform to the USDA's definition of "beef".

Ok Meg... I'll admit it... being a vegetarian sounds pretty good right now.
