After two seasons, Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler has chosen to leave his role as a judge on ‘American Idol.’ Tyler made the announcement via press release, smack dab in the middle of speculation that Charlie Sheen is up for a slot on the panel and right after Jennifer Lopez, who joined the same season as Tyler, said that she thinks it’s time for her to go. Will Randy ‘Yo! Dawg!’ Jackson be the sole judge to remain?
What is it with reality talent competition judges botching the national anthem? ‘The Voice‘ coach Christina Aguilera bungled the song at the Super Bowl last February, and now, Aerosmith frontman and ‘American Idol‘ judge Steven Tyler is being crucified for his poor version of ‘The Star-Spangled Banner,’ which he sang this afternoon (Jan. 22) before the AFC championship game between the New England Patriots and the Baltimore Ravens. The Pats actually won the game, so Tyler’s inept version wasn’t a curse or bad luck.
During an appearance on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show on Wednesday, ‘American Idol’ producer Nigel Lythgoe confirmed judges Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler, and Randy Jackson would be back for season 11 of the show.
“I am delighted to say that all three judges, along with the brilliant host of ‘American Idol’ are back for the next season,” he told Seacrest, who happens to be the aforementioned “brilliant host” of ‘Idol.’
The ACM Awards last night in Vegas saw some major country cross-over's: Jason Aldean rapped, Rihanna and Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles sang Ri's hit "California King Bed".
But the BEST part of the show was Carrie Underwood and Steven Tyler rockin' the stage! They killed Carrie's "Undo It" and then went into an amazing performance of "Walk This Way"
