The Walking Dead is facing yet another legal challenge. Apart from repeated profit-sharing lawsuits from showrunners past and present, AMC has now been hit with a wrongful death lawsuit by the family of late stuntman John Bernecker, who died from an accident during production in 2017.

Any series is bound to show its age after eight seasons, but The Walking Dead might finally have begun to decompose. Sunday’s Season 8 premiere ratings were the third-lowest in the series’ history, beating only the 2010 series premiere and the 2011 Season 2 opener.

Time is a curious thing on The Walking Dead, as where some seasons jump months at a time, others pick up seconds later. That’s made Maggie’s Season 6 pregnancy difficult to chart, but word of whether we’ll meet the little tyke in Season 8 might hint at a major change to come.
