The 19th annual Teddy Bear Toss has taken place, with fans of the Calgary Hitmen showing up to participate in the event. When the Hitmen score their first goal of the game, fans throw teddy bears onto the ice. Those toys then get collected and distributed to local charities such as the Cerebral Palsy Association, the Salvation Army, Boys and Girls Clubs, and Alberta Children’s Hospital.

How many bears were tossed onto the ice this year? 25,921!

As you can see in the video, the tossing goes on for quite a while, and you can bet it took even longer to clear them off the ice!
